This is a plaid polyester taffeta fabric and a poly dupioni fabric.

 

The plaid pattern is also known as Tartan, also commonly referred to as Christmas plaid.

 

#1 Is a TAFFETA fabric - The colors in this fabric are red, green, and blue/purple. This taffeta is an imitation of silk taffeta.

#2 Is a TAFFETA fabric - The colors in this fabric are red, burgundy, hunter green, and white. This taffeta is an imitation of silk taffeta.

#3 is a POLY DUPIONI fabric- The colors in this fabric are red and green. This poly dupioni is an imitation of dupioni silk.

 

Fraying is normal in this fabric.

Taffeta fabric is crisp yet smooth to the touch, and it holds its shape well. 
Taffeta has a minimal sheen and a crisp weight, and it makes a rustling/ "swish" sound when it rubs together.

Taffeta is a "crisp", lightweight fabric that is traditionally used for elegant special occasion clothing.  Specially used to make historical gowns and to create a voluminous or fuller effect.

 

When the fabric is gathered color looks darker vs when the fabric lays flat.
